School Values

Brushwood is a values led school and the following values were agreed by pupils and staff together. They are the skills and character traits which we expect to see modelled by every member of our school to enable us all to be successful and productive members of our community. These values underpin our ethos and culture.

Children are explicitly taught about the values during class work, at break times and during assemblies. They should be able to recognise when they have demonstrated a value well and we celebrate their commitment to the values during the weekly Well done assembly. The values are on display in every classroom and are referred to constantly as reminders of how we can all become autonomous and reflective learners.

The Values are:

Confidence

Collaboration

Ambition

Resilience

Respect

(Everyone)

An easy way for the children to remember the values is to take the first letter of the values and think of Brushwood as a ‘Care’ school
