Religious Education

Brushwood School is not affiliated to any particular religious group and the curriculum reflects the local community which is  mainly Christian and Muslim. Religious Education teaching follows the Buckinghamshire Agreed Syllabus and is taught on a weekly basis to each class. Assemblies are held daily. Those parents who wish to withdraw their children from either RE or assemblies are asked to contact the Headteacher. No special provision is made for any child who is withdrawn from RE or assemblies.

Provision in the curriculum will enable pupils to:-
  • Study the beliefs, festivals and celebrations of Christianity
  • Study at least two other religions in depth.  Choose from Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism or Sikhism
  • Study three of the major six religions not studied in depth in order to gain a brief outline
  • Study other religions of interest to pupils
